The Stage is Set

Everything was perfect. Well sort of perfect. We worked all day on fine tuning the set, lights, and talent needs. I begin to appreciate the backside of theatre the more I do techie things like this. I have always had a deep understanding for those people in black who make the magic happen on stage. I really also appreciate the talent who respect the tech aspect. They are real and in the moment.

A tired ole town

It's midnight and the town is finally asleep after its long cold spring day. This have come to a quiet close. Oddly enought the bridge on North street was closed tonight and I had to take plan B route home - bless you Heather for getting me home via phone. You are better than OnStar. You are my STAR.
Pitts is home now... I am home now... Tomorrow is here...
Lot's to do for opening night.
Wow...
Stay cool and it will be fine.

Oh sweet Athenaeum

It's 3:33 pm and i just crossed Southport from my sort of legal parking space. An UPS driver (female too) just gave the best curse out to a driver that ran a red light. There she was half in and half outside her nonexistent door. "it's red! It is RED!" she swears up and done.
Horns sound in every direction.
I escape to the Golden Apple.
I find the idea of a pecan waffle can only bring me closer to the present. I look across the street to see the great Athenaeum. She looks good. Proud and sporting a new sign.
Oh she is a sight for sore eyes... Ooh my pecan waffle is getting cold.

Chicago behind the Eight Ball
It never fails when I come to Chicago it is always either cold or hot. If I bring shorts and t-shirts then it is freezing cold. If I bring turtle necks and sweaters then its darn hot. This time I thought I outsmarted the Chicago gods and brough t-shirts and turtlenecks.
Well around 2pm I had to get off the road with near tornado conditions!
It went from 75 degrees to 32 in like 10 minutes. Holy cow it was crazy. I never saw rain hit me from that angle. WOW!
Well, I am here for the Chicago Improv Festival and it has once again grown beyond my wildest dreams. I can remember the first years' festival still fresh in my head! Wow!
Lot's of work ahead of me - so getting a head start to relax some and sleep some will be good. I love the break up into two weekends vs. all one long ass weekend.
See you around the block!
