The theme of the week is doctors.

I have seen more doctors and hospital then my fair share. While in NJ visiting my dad who has been in the hospital since July 5th 2005 is still trying to get out.

He had originally gone in for problems with his breathing but it quickly became a stroke issue.

After a quadruple bypass he has been on the roller coaster called the Great American Health system.

Let me verify to you that the state of our health system is out of control. First off I have seen my share of doctors who do not speak english. I have talked to better english-speaking doctors in South East asia when I was sick there than in Middlesex New Jersey. What is it with the medical exams? Are they not administered in english?

My dad was out of his mind yesterday as was my step-mom, although hers was not diagnosed. I kept doing the mantra, "stay in the moment.... Stay in the moment.... Don't worry about the past or predict the future.

She kind of nods and gets it, but she really doesn't. It is like she enjoys being fully frightened or in a state of fear. Why would you want to live like this? She smokes like a chimney and is generally aged herself 25 extra years due to the unburdened extra stress she inflicts on herself.

My dad is being shuffled from hospital to hospital, doc to doc and from treatment to treatment. During the entire time he has been in the hospital everyone around him has accepted his reality which is rooted in dysfunctal mental illness.

He needs to get his head right first.

But alas what do I know I am not a doctor.
